If we pay attention to what’s happening in the world around us and in our own personal lives, everything is pointing towards change. Change is the one constant in life. We can count on change. It’s as natural as breathing. To the human consciousness, change is threatening because we are creatures of habit. We resist change which goes against the natural process of life, which is change.
How does this dynamic of change affect people in relationship to their job and career? In our work with people, this is what people have told us:
“I am just surviving in this job, it’s what I know, and I’m good at it...why risk it?”
“In this economy, making money and earning a living has become more important than focusing on my lifelong dreams and desires.”
“I do have a new vision for my career, but I’ve been doing this for 20 years and I am successful and have a comfortable lifestyle. I feel caught. I don’t know what to do.”
“I don’t have the time to change, I’m too busy, my life is already so full, and I wouldn’t know how to do it, or where to begin.”
To say it right up front, this program is about awakening... about waking up.
It is important to recognize you are already changing and embrace that you are a person who is evolving right now. You are not the same being that you were 6 months ago, or yesterday, or six minutes ago. To quote Heraclitus, “You can not step twice into the same river.”
To fundamentally change, one must grasp and deeply come to terms with what “change” truly means. Changing from the inside out rather than from the outside in takes courage, strength, mindfulness, focus and tremendous self-confidence.
Who has taught us how to change gracefully, or how to consciously change with grace? If we don’t awaken, if we literally do not wake up to the opportunity of reinvention...the entropy of life will take over.
We no longer have the luxury to be complacent or tolerate mediocrity in our lives.
It is time to listen to the call of your heart, can you hear it?
We can.
