In my experience there is a very strong bond between a Mother and a Daughter that has been studied throughout the years in psychology and philosophy....which cannot truly be described.  In the past, and I believe in the present, the relationship between a Mother and Daughter can be filled with love, pride and honor as well as disappointment, judgement and criticism.  In many cases it has been described as being in a "tug of war" going back and forth between love and disharmony...not really understanding why or how to get out of it.  So what have we learned to do....live with it, put up with it,  cry about it,  complain about it, and, of course, pray about it.

Many Daughters feel they cannot ever quite live up to their Mother's expectations of them, feeling criticized and judged a great deal by their Moms. Sometimes to the point of feeling smothered by how much their Mothers love them and wanting to break free from this bondage and stand on their own two feet. If that has meant being distant or rebellious, than many daughters have gone that route.

Many Mothers feel that what they do isn't ever enough for their Daughters, leaving them feeling unappreciated, unacknowledged for the sacrifices they have made. Sometimes to the point where their guilt and worry for their Daughters well being can take over and cause deep resignation and hidden grief. If that has meant over-giving, or under-giving, and living with a broken heart, and in many cases a broken body, than that is what must be done.

In my work with people over the course of 27 years I have seen this pattern repeat itself over and over again. I have experienced it to some degree in my own relationship with my Mother.  It does not have to be this way....not at all.  As a matter of fact it is time to end this way of thinking and behaving.  It no longer serves anyone, and it never has.

There will be personal guidance available after the retreat for the purpose of integration and mastery. These can be conducted by telephone or in person with Shakti. These sessions are $150 per hour.

There would be home study/play assignments, which could include reading, writing, creativity projects, and spiritual practices.
